Wind Comic v12.460.0 — First Release After 700 Updates in main
The wind-comic tool has released v12.460.0 — its first GitHub Release since April 2026. Since then, all changes went straight to main, and more than 700 versions have accumulated in that time, each recorded in VERSIONS.md. The release locks in main as a verified snapshot for those who follow releases rather than the main branch. Details are in the release description on GitHub.
What it means
In our reference, the latest release listed for wind-comic was v2.12.0 — now it is v12.460.0. The tool remains an open source video generator under the MIT license, with code written in TypeScript. The author describes it as a multi-agent pipeline that turns a single line of text into a finished short drama: script, storyboard, video with consistent characters. The pipeline is not tied to a specific provider — it works with OpenAI, Claude, Midjourney, Minimax, Veo, Sora, fal and ComfyUI.
Among the changes since v2.12.0 is a director's scene with a top-down view, where you can place actors and the camera, and the placement turns into a staging suggestion in the shot prompt plus a gray composition sketch. The composition check reports actors outside the frame and overlaps before generation, but does not block it. A 3D preview from the camera lens or from a free orbit has been added. For the storyboard there is now sketch-lock: first a gray composition sketch is generated, then it is passed as a soft composition reference for the shot — off by default, enabled per shot.
The release matters to those who prefer stable snapshots over a continuously changing main. For other wind-comic users nothing changes: the code in the repository has been updated all this time, and v12.460.0 simply locks in the current state as a verified point. How the method works.
