Spark-X2.6-4B: a new 4-billion model for local agents on HuggingFace

On October 19, 2026, the model XHToken/Spark-X2.6-4B with the text-generation task was published on HuggingFace. This is an update to the Spark-X2.5 line: the architecture is unchanged, and the gains come from improved post-training. The author claims improvements in coding, agentic scenarios, long context, multilingual capability and reasoning.

What it means

The model has 4.1 billion parameters, and the weights are published in safetensors format. The full repository takes up 7.7 GB, with the largest file at 1.9 GB. It runs via transformers, and the license is apache-2.0. For local running, the platform hosts 12 quantized builds: GGUF, FP8, NVFP4 and MLX. The most compact working version is 2.2 GB at 4 bits, the abenzerps/Spark-X2.6-4B-MLX-4bit build. The code is released as open source. The model targets on-device scenarios and, by size, fits into consumer GPUs and local runtimes. More on local AI tool news is in the CPU3D news feed.
