Wind Comic v13.0.0 fixes aspect ratio at all generation stages

The wind-comic tool has released Wind Comic v13.0.0. The release collects 13 intermediate versions from September 30 to October 9, 2026, plus this release's own changes. Most of the fixes addressed two problems: settings that could be changed and saved but whose code never read them, and requests to engines that looked successful but sent the wrong thing. The main change is that the aspect ratio is now enforced end to end: a 9:16 project stays vertical during single-frame regeneration, self-healing retries, segment repeats, 4K re-render, recomposition after chat edits, and scene image regeneration. Previously, all of these paths except full film generation reset the project to 16:9, and horizontal clips ended up in vertical films. The Ken Burns placeholder used when all engines fail is no longer hardcoded to 1280x720.

What it means

Wind Comic is an open source video generator under the MIT license, written in TypeScript. The author describes it as a multi-agent pipeline that turns a single line of text into a finished short drama: script, storyboard, video with consistent characters. The tool is not tied to a single provider — it supports OpenAI, Claude, Midjourney, Minimax, Veo, Sora, fal, and ComfyUI. In our fact sheet, the latest release listed is v2.12.0, and the last code change is dated September 11, 2026. Release v13.0.0 goes beyond that data: judging by the description, the project's version numbering has changed, and many intermediate releases passed between v2.12.0 and v13.0.0. The developer does not specify how much the tool weighs, how much VRAM it requires, or which model parameters it uses. For those working with vertical short dramas, this fix closes a noticeable gap: previously, any action other than full film generation could return a horizontal frame into a vertical project. Now the aspect ratio is read from the project across all material production paths. The changes are recorded in VERSIONS.md, so the edit history can be traced through the repository.
